Old Valentine

Fancy cards for Valentine’s were rare until the 70s. Before that cards were homemade with verses written by the sender. Sometimes these verses were unflattering  words directed at the homeowner, while others were love poems, addressed to a specific person and signed by “Guess Who”. This Valentine card was given to Caroline Hayse by her husband when they were teenagers. She has kept it for more than 40 years.
