Andrew James Carson was born on 2 January 1893 in County Tyrone, Ireland. In 1914, he and his family immigrated to Canada and resided at 146 Maple St. in London, ON. The next year, the family moved to 689 Colbourne. Carson worked as a tanner at C.S. Hyman & Co. He enlisted with the 33rd Canadian Infantry Battalion on 16 January 1915 and was drafted into the 1st Btn. once overseas. In September 1916, Private Carson was wounded in the left thigh and recuperated at No. 13 Stationary Hospital in Boulogne (France). After returning to his unit in October, Pte. Carson was killed in action in France on 21 November 1916.

He is commemorated on page 64 of the First World War Book of Remembrance, (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
