Cook was born in Wimbledon, Great Britain, on 9 September 1893. He immigrated to London, ON, with his parents George and Mary Cook and resided at 125 Ann Street. Before the First World War, Cook was employed as a baker. On 10 December 1915, he enlisted in the 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion. On 15 October 1918, only four weeks before the Armistice Day, Pte. Cook was reported wounded, then missing in action. His body was recovered two days later.
He is commemorated on page 388 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber in the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill).
