Private Frederick James Brabrook

Born in London, Great Britain, on 4 December 1884, Brabrook immigrated to Canada in 1907. He married Amy (May) Whitney, in May 1912; the two resided at 17 Lansdowne Ave in London, ON. Prior to the war, Frederick worked as an orderly. Having served three years in the militia before the First World War, Frederick enlisted in the 142^nd Canadian Infantry Battalion on 11 December, 1915. Posted to France in February 1917, Pte. Brabrook spent a year attached to the 107^th Pioneer Btn before transferring to the 1^st Canadian Field Ambulance in May 1918. On 2 October 1918, he was fatally wounded in the chest by shrapnel and died in hospital ten days later.

He is commemorated on page 373 of the First World War Book of Remembrance  (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
