Harrison was born in Granton, ON, but lived in Winnipeg, MB, at the time of his enlistment. He was 19 years old. His attestation papers listed his mother as next of kin, Mrs. Thomas E. Harrison, who was residing in London, ON, at 432 Park Ave. Harrison worked as a clerk before enlisting, and previously served for two years with the 15th Argyle Light Infantry in Belleville, ON. Harrison was initially assigned to the 203rd Canadian Infantry Battalion on 4 March 1916, but upon arrival in France, he was transferred to the 8th Btn, “the Black Devils”. He was killed in action in Belgium on 10 November 1917 at Meetchelle, just north of Passchendaele.
He is commemorated on page 252 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
