Private James Archibald Anderson was born on 25 March 1893 in Pond Mills, ON. Anderson lived with his parents, Christopher and Janet Anderson, at 480 Charlotte St. in London, ON. He was employed as a fireman, before enlisting with the 135th Battalion, on 18 April 1916. He was transferred to the 134th Btn in Great Britain, and finally went to France as a reinforcement for the 15th Btn in December 1916. At twenty-four years of age, on 9 April 1917, Pte. Anderson was killed in the first day of assault at Vimy Ridge.
He is commemorated on page 191 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
