Isaac was born on 29 November 1890 in London, ON. He was a widower, and lived with his parents at 920 Dundas St., working as an electrician at the Electric Hydro Substation. In 1916, he enlisted with the No. 1 Army Medical Corps Training Depot. Isaac was frequently admitted to hospital in Great Britain, on separate occasions, to treat gonorrhoea, syphilis, and enteritis. In March of 1919, Pte. Isaac became seriously ill. He died on 22 April 1919, at the age of twenty-eight, after receiving medical treatment for anaemia at the 4th Canadian General Hospital in Basingstoke, Great Britain. Pte. Isaac was later diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukaemia.
He is commemorated on page 536 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
