Davis was born on 16 December 1896 in London, ON. He lived at 454 Salisbury St., with his parents, Walter and Bella Davis. Davis worked as a clerk, prior to enlisting with the 71st Canadian Infantry Battalion, on 16 October 1915. He was transferred to the 44th Btn in May 1916, and posted to France in August. Pte. Davis was shot in the left thigh on 18 November 1916, and died of the wound on 11 December 1916, after being evacuated to the 3rd Western General Hospital in Cardiff.
He is commemorated on page 75 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
