Born in London, ON, in 1884, Geary lived at 339 Hill St. with his 2 children Lilian and Mary. He worked as a machinist for the Grand Trunk Railway. Prior to the First World War, he served for 3 years with the 1st Hussars Regiment. Geary enlisted on 25 February 1916 with the 135th Canadian Infantry Battalion. Upon arrival in Great Britain in August 1916, he was transferred to the 134th Btn. before crossing the Channel. In May 1917, he was serving in the front lines as a member of the 3rd Bttn. He was killed in action seven months later, on 6 November 1917 during the Battle of Passchendaele.
He is commemorated on page 242 of the First World War Book of Remembrance (Memorial Chamber, Peace Tower, Parliament Hill).
