The gravestone of Captain Benjamin Taverner is located in St. James’ Anglican Cemetery in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL.

The inscription on the gravestone reads:

In loving memory of Benjamin Taverner, Master S.S. Caribou, aged 62 years, who went down with his ship when torpedoed through enemy action in the Cabot Strait on Oct. 14th 1942. “Greater love hath no man than this.”
