Jacques Lecours: a forerunner of the “economuseum”

Jacques Lecours: From the start, our vision was to preserve the mill, and to sell what it produced to generate income and ensure that it would continue to operate and thrive. It was a forerunner of the “economuseum”: a museum that preserves a traditional craft and is financially supported through the sale of what it produces. By turning the mill into a public organization, owned by the community, I think we have enriched the community and given it a unique, irreplaceable resource. I believe the community has become increasingly aware of how much the mill offers, and how rich their local heritage is, something Saint-Eustache citizens are justly proud of.
