Dogsled Transportation on Perreault Street in Rouyn

Created by Indigenous people to go from one place to another during winter, the sled puled by dogs was a very popular means of transportation. For instance, we would use it to deliver mail and carry sick people. It then became a leisure activity and an emblematic winter sport.
