Acknowledgements and Conclusion
Let us end this journey with the words of Jean Chamberland, a geographer from Abitibi :
Today, we are still living off the fruits from the harvesting of this territory’s resources.
Will we be able to rediscover an environmental wisdom that will allow us to diversify our approaches and ensure the sustainability of our resources? Maybe we’ll have to relearn how to cultivate our gardens…

MA, musée d’art
A real cultural centre, the MA contributes to the vitality of the city. Created in 2012 in the city centre of Rouyn-Noranda, continuously contributing to the development of visual arts in north-western Québec.
The Corporation de La maison Dumulon
The Corporation of La maison Dumulon has the mission to publicize and showcase the history and heritage of the territory, in particular that of Rouyn-Noranda, allowing people to live and experience the past.
The Quebec National Archives (BAnQ)
in Rouyn-Noranda
Centre de Rouyn-Noranda
Dedicated to the preservation and development of the region’s public and private archives, it offers researchers and the public a consultation room and efficient personnel to guide them in the use of the wide range of materials the centre holds.
The Corporation Archéo-08
Archéo-08 is an organization established by a group of citizens of Abitibi-Témiscamingue in order to develop archaeological research in their region. Its mandate consists of organizing and realizing a long-term archaeological research plan. The corporation also acts as a consultant to diverse public groups in Abitibi-Témiscamingue when requested. It plays an important role in the preservation and conservation of archaeological resources as well as consulting in cases of incidental findings by private landowners.
