Above is an example of artificial climbing in which Bernard Poisson is carrying out the first ascension of “Ben’s roof” in 1958.

Until 1985, the year in which this route was free climbed by François Roy, “Ben’s roof” could only be climbed by means of artificial climbing techniques.
