This photograph features the rural landscape of western Verdun in the early 20th century, dominated by fields, farms and wooded areas. To travel from east to west and back, Verdunites took LaSalle Road along the banks of the St. Lawrence River. During the 1920s, this thoroughfare was given its present-day name of LaSalle Boulevard.
