Canada needs your help
Save animal fats and bones for explosives and other materials manufactured by war industries. 

1.Urgent Need. The war in the Pacific has greatly affected the reserves of oils and fats that Canada received from the Far East. Substitutes for these materials must be found. Fats are used to make glycerine. Glycerine is required for the manufacture of explosives to bomb the enemy’s war factories, down their planes and sink their submarines. Canada needs millions of pounds of fats and you, ladies, can help procure them. 

2.Save each drop of used cooking fat. Bacon fat, melted fat, fat for frying, any of the fats you use. Once you have used it as much as possible for your cooking, pour it through a sieve into a very clean container with a large opening; the contents must then be kept in a cool place.

3.Once you have a least one pound of this material, bring it to your meat supplier, who will pay you for the fats you saved and send them to war industries. If your community already has a volunteer salvage committee or a municipal system for collecting this material, you can give your fats and bones to one of these organizations.
