The coat of arms of Verdun at the time, a beaver on a maple leaf, was integrated into Dunver’s emblem, illustrating the close ties between the City and the Canadian frigate. The Latin motto Tu te la vestra missio mea (Your Mission is Mine)is inscribed on the ribbon.
