Kewagama (also known as Petit-Canada) was a squatter village located in Cadillac Township. Near O’Brien Gold Mines. Effervescent — much like “Putainville” — Kewagama also lacked running water or sewage. In 1938, squatters were moved against their will to the newly-established town of Cadillac.
