Shown is Salle Massicotte [Massicotte Hall]. The first floor of the building served as a ballroom. Most of the public meetings on the future of Roc-d’Or took place in this room. In May 1941, some 200 squatters met to further municipal incorporation. The minutes of the meeting described their position: “contrary to the many rumours, the morals of the population of Roc-d’Or are as good as in any other locality”.
