The Village of Norrie near East Malartic Mines

East Malartic Mines also built an attractive village close to its infrastructure. Named after Joseph Rupert Norrie, the mine manager, it was not recognised by the government. There was a general store with a post office, a hospital, a curling rink and an outdoor skating rink.
