Dr. Frederick Banting wrote this letter to Dr. Alan Brown at the Hospital for Sick Children. He recommended that Dr. Gladys Boyd remain in charge of the treatment of diabetic children at the hospital. Over the next ten years, the work of Dr. Banting and Dr. Boyd resulted in a 50% reduction of childhood diabetes-related deaths at the hospital.
